Entry Level and Hydrographic Surveyors [Australia]


 ***This role is part of a continuous applicant pool.***If you either have a degree in Surveying or Spatial Science (or have suitable qualifications and experience), or you're currently studying towards a degree, then this is the role for you and you're strongly encouraged to apply.As a Hydrographic Surveyor, you'll be based in Brisbane CBD but will also undertake regular travel along the Queensland coastline, inner waterways and remote locations to conduct hydrographic surveys.You'll enjoy a high level of travelling, being innovative, thinking critically and communicating with a wide range of stakeholders and colleagues. You will work towards bettering your own and your team's performance, and at times be able to work autonomously.Benefits include: - Salary level based on experience and suitability- 12.75% superannuation- 20 days recreational leave per annum- 10 days personal (sick) leave per annum- 5 days additional hydro leave per annum- Accrual of long service leave for future access- Support towards training and possible incentive payment for AHSCP Level 1 Certification- Applicable overtime rates when performing work onboard a vesselPO2/PO3 Hydrographic Surveyor accountabilities include: - Conduct and manage all hydrographic survey projects, throughout Queensland- Provide accurate and detailed project reports- Assist in the implementation and development of standards, procedures and guidelines- Investigate and identify new developments in technology, methods and products to provide advice to management of their application in the maritime environment- As directed, prepare cost estimates and hydrographic survey instructions for hydrographic projects throughout the state- Provide expert technical advice- Accurately store tidal recordings and undertake tidal analysisPO1 Entry Level Hydrographic Surveyor (entry level currently studying towards a degree) accountabilities include: - Plan and conduct field surveys under the direction of a Hydrographic Surveyor.- Work on a variety of Hydrographic Survey projects.- Generate survey plans and reports using CAD.- Prepare project reports and processing of field data.- Troubleshoot survey equipment connectivity.SuitabilityThe following Leadership Competencies for Queensland 'Individual Contributor' competencies have been identified as most relevant to the role and form the basis of assessment of suitability: - Makes insightful decisions.- Stimulates ideas and innovation.- Builds enduring relationships.- Pursues continues growth.- Applies specialist knowledge and skills.Refer to the role description for a full list of accountabilities and further informationabout the role capabilities.
